Val was generous enough to have extended conversations about the needs for a small party and the outcome was wonderful. Hearty Food provided an amazing meal with complementary textures and flavours, beautifully prepared and served. Dinner was everything I hoped it would be.

We asked Val to cater for the evening before our wedding. We had 50 guest to feed and the food was amazing. Nothing was left over with guest going up for seconds and thirds! She was in contact through the whole process and was able to cater for several dietary requirements.

Val catered for my 30th birthday event and I could not have asked for a more delicious, creative and suitable menu. Each dish was made with such care and attention, whilst being packed with flavour. Favourites were definitely the breaded olives on a bed of spiced yogurt and the Chalkstream trout with pickled onions and pomegranate - just unreal! Val went above and behind to meet my needs and it was also so nice seeing her enthusiasm about the dishes. THANK YOU <3

Val went over and beyond to cater at our wedding. From the moment we started to chat to Val it was so clear that this is more than just cooking food to her, she put her heart and soul into making our wedding food absolutely incredible. Every single thing tasted so lovely and full of flavour. We were not the easiest people to cater for had a lot of different dietary requirements and our budget wasn't the biggest, the numbers we asked Val to cater for kept growing by the day and she completely rose to this and had such a patient and lovely response to everything we spoke about, we ended up with nearly 100 people and the quality if the food did not suffer at all. We spoke to a few different caterers along the way and I cannot recommend Val enough, she will make the whole journey far less stressful and it actually became a nice part of the wedding plan with her involved. We were worried a buffet would feel cheap but it was AMAZING, nothing like what you imagine a typical wedding buffet to be, it all completely exceeded our expectations. If you want food that tastes amazing with every bite and someone who will make the whole food planning journey far less stressful then 100% go with Val. Thanks again for being the best person we could have found to cater of our wedding!

Val provided a delicious spread of food for my mums 70th. Everything was planned meticulously from beginning to end and she even provided children’s options for some of the food so they could enjoy it too. She and her helper were friendly and the perfect people to welcome into your home. I’d highly recommend Val to anyone considering having a special meal. Unfortunately we were too busy devouring the food to remember to take any photos but it all tasted and looked delicious. Thanks so much Val. Xx

The collaboration with Val in preparation of my birthday dinner at the Secular Retreat was already outstanding. Val was a great advisor to optimize my own ideas, and we ended up to have an ultimate feast. She even took her time to discuss with wine pairing with Dom from Barrel & Still, Kingsbridge whose selection was ultimate pleasure. Val's cooking was highly professional, and so was the serving. If you really want something extra-special, I can fully recommend Val's qualifications and her passion for everything she does.

My partner and I stayed in holiday accommodation in Dartmouth with our families for our civil partnership, and Val came in and cooked an absolute feast for the 13 of us as part of the celebrations. Val was brilliant right from the start, discussing menus in detail, coming in while we were at the ceremony to have everything ready for us when we got back, and producing such brilliant and well-judged food - all of us were blown away. We can't praise the quality of the food highly enough. All tastes were catered for - Val even prepared something special for the kids. Val and Jez made the day so special. Charlie and Anne.

Val was absolutely amazing. She laid on a spread for 16 of us for a friends stag do, everyone was obsessed with the food! Worth paying extra to have her bring a helper as we didn’t have to worry at all about clearing up or serving. Professional, prompt and a great laugh. Highly recommend Val.
